Projects

I have so many things swirly around in my mind regarding all the projects I want to complete!  So many that I have stopped moving forward on them.  As I contemplate how to get out of my rut I am remembering what a friend once told me when I was a stay at home mom and I felt overwhelmed with all the house cleaning, laundry and day to day chores and just wanting to have playtime with the kids; she would say, “Just take one room at a time!  When you are done in one area move on or have playtime.”

My crazy project list:

  • Digital Designs
  • Completing ecourse homework
  • Preparing for my son’s HS graduation
  • Collaborating on an ecourse
  • Household chores
  • Shampooing our carpets, they really need it!
  • Creating a signature line for my blog
  • Collaborating on a scrapbooking supplies store
  • Creating art for fun
  • Incorporating my “Spark” list into my everyday activities

I know I have more but this is a good start!  What is on your list and how do you tackle it?

Creative Juice!

My creative juices started flowing tonight at 11:30pm and I created a new desktop wallpaper for myself!

I used my font I created for a online digital class!

I love how it looks on my screen!

What needs nurturing in your life?

Today I am digging deep to prioritize what needs nurturing in my life.  My first thought is creating digital scrapbook designs more often and working with my “Right Brain Business Plan”!  I will share a list later.

Catch up day!

Sunday’s seem to be a catch up day for me.

  • I need to catch up on the laundry, only because I ignored it all week!!
  • I need to catch up on sleep, only because I stay up late each night and get up early the next day for work!
  • I need to catch up on reading, only because I put off reading the book I have been asked to read and participate in a weekly discussion through work!
  • I need to catch up on “hang out” time with my family, only because I really, really want to!

Hanging out!

How do you spend your Sunday’s?

If I were in charge….

If I were in charge of school….

I would:

  • Create a year-round school calendar
  • Have the teens start later and young un’s start early
  • Learning opportunities for all types of learning styles
  • Not assume all students thrive in the current traditional school setting and last but not least I would even consider the idea of
  • No Homework!

Yup, you read that right, no homework! Let’s be honest, do the kids really remember/memorize what they are being taught?   I question what purpose a “final” test has when you could ask any student if they recall details of the class 1, 2, 3, or even 4 weeks after taking it.  I imagine there are better ways to get students to retain the information they need to.  Daily quizzes or being able to take more classes that are of interest to them besides the basics, with year-round schooling it could be done!  Anyway, I do think our education system needs to be overhauled and improved.

PS Some of these ideas I agree with and others are from conversations I’ve had with my kids!

What would you change if you were in charge of _________? (fill in the blank!)
